“When a man partakes of Holy Communion he receives power and is enlightened, his horizons widen, and he feels joy. Each person experiences something different, analogous to his disposition and the flame of his soul. One person feels joy and rest, another peace, another a spirit of devotion and another an inexpressible sympathy towards all things. Personally I have often felt tire, but after Holy Communion I felt myself completely renewed.”
– Elder Amphilochios of Patmos”

During the midnight Easter Liturgy, scores of Orthodox choirs sing Tikey Zes’s arrangement of the Paschal communion hymn, “Soma Christou.” As a tribute to Tikey and his music, choir members from around the United States helped AXIOS Music created the first-ever, Orthodox virtual choir. They chose to record “Soma Christou” because of its singular place in the annals of Greek Orthodox choral music in the United States. Translation from first published score of “Soma Christou”: Receive ye the Body of Christ; taste of the Fount of Immortality. Alleluia.”
