The Causes of the Pandemic - (C) Vatopedi monastery, Mount Athos

Many ask us what the causes of the pandemic COVID-19 are, if it is a natural phenomenon, or if there are state-level actors who generated this epidemic.

We need to understand that this way of thinking is distorted.

Don’t blame others

We must first think why perfect God has allowed this to happen to us. Nothing is accidental.

So, the cause is us, our sins. Since it is a general pain, it is clearly shown that this sin is a general one—and this due to indifference to spiritual matters, indifference to God.

Thus, we deserve separation from services and Holy Communion, due to the general indifference of those who know almost nothing about faith, and those who know about faith but do not mourn and pray for their state and society in general.

We must cry and pray intensely, patiently and hopefully, waiting for the solution. That is how the problems are solved. …

The SIN is killing innocent “SPEECHLESS SOULS” (animals) for man’s greed…….
Making amends to the erratic behaviour from past did not do justice to this trade for profit
Hence, God has taken this drastic step to teach us the way nature works !
Severe consequences will follow further, unless human understanding changes…….
May The Lord have mercy on us

I am doing a study in the writings of Habakkuk; it is in the seminal stage, but it seems to apply to where mankind is in its relationship to God. I haven’t gotten much beyond the first chapter at this point. Habakkuk is interesting because he is the only Old Testament prophet who doesn’t speak directly to mankind; he directs his attention to God.

    Paraphrasing Habakkuk concerning CV 19

Habakkuk 1:1-4 The oracle that Habakkuk the prophet received. How long, O LORD, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, “Violence!” but you do not save? Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrong? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds. Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails. The wicked hem in the righteous, so that justice is perverted.

Habakkuk cries out centuries ago for us today,
How long do I cry out without an answer?’
    Why don’t you do something?
Oh Lord, how long shall I cry out
and You will not hear me?
I even cry unto Thee of these evils
    and Thou will not heal.
Why do you allow evil to exist?
    Destruction, violence, strife, conflict
    everywhere; laws are ignored.
    Evil abounds.

Now let’s look at reason for Habakkuk’s despair, he states that ‘…civil law is paralyzed as is God’s law; justice never seems to prevail, it is perverted by the politicians for the gain of the wealthy, the rulers and the bankers. The evil in the land of Israel then correlates with our modern times; history repeats itself, for in every venue of our civilization, the wicked hem in the righteous and justice is perverted. Does this sound familiar? The bottom line source of the problem was the ‘paralyzing’ of God’s law in the days of Habakkuk much as we see happening around us today. We might ask, is civil law, let alone God’s law, paralyzed in our day by our compromised judicial system? We observe in our schools that laws are passed to prevent prayer or study of the Bible, while children are forced to learn about Islam, the Koran, and other religions under the guise of multi-cultural studies; we see legal justification of the sins of homo-sexuality and abortion? Israel, in the times that Habakkuk lived in had departed from God’s law and he speaks to us today because sadly, Western society has moved far from its original Christian foundations and is following in the steps of ancient Israel.
